"A PLASTIC DOLL WITH BIG B**BIES." LET'S TALK.

Hey huns, how are we all doing? Does anyone else feel like January has been a thing for like 3 months already. My god. It is DRAGGING. However, I am feeling very content right now. Focussing on my career, loving my muggle job (apart from the Karen's) taking time each week to really prioritise my own well-being. Self-care, reading (still in love with the Hunger Games omg) Yve would always tell me to read the books and said how much better they were than the movies, yes Yve, you were correct. Miss you. They are not disappointing me at all so far. I’m so excited to continue with the series. How have we all been surviving the January blues? I hope you are all finding some light during these dark winter months. I have been wearing the brightest colours possible and getting many stares (thanks huns) but it just makes me feel so much happier! Let’s delve in.

I am sure we have all seen a certain someone’s performance at the Golden Globes. If you haven’t then in a nutshell, imagine the term “feminism” putting on a pair of running shoes and running for the hills, straight out the door. Gone. Goodbye. Essentially this is what happened at the Golden Globes. I remember going to see Barbie the day after it’s release. The cinema was packed and everyone was dressed head to toe in pink, some people had pink Barbie bucket hats and I was in loveeeee. I took away so much from the film. Just how impossible it is to be a woman sometimes. As my girl T Swift says “a man can react, a woman can only overreact” You must speak your mind but stop being so cocky. Focus on your career but ugh you’re so boring for not making so many memories in your twenties. Kiss a few frogs but also find your soulmate before you’re thirty.  Save money but also be reckless. Always have your makeup and hair done to perfection but ugh I prefer the natural look for a woman. Stop trying too hard. You’re not trying enough. Ahhhhhh. Give me a break please.

As Jo Koy so ignorantly put it... “Barbie is about a plastic doll with big boobies”  Yes, Barbie and I have that in common but anyway. The joke was simply not funny. The whole point of the movie was the complete opposite. It wasn’t funny. He also went on to talk about a "character actress" being the “ugly one” who will never find love etc. Yeah YAWN. I mean come on. Me personally, all I ever heard was “you’re too tall to be the leading lady,” “no leading leady has cellulite or rolls.” In the nicest way possible. Fuck off. Imagine broadcasting these thoughts that society has always depicted for so many years to millions and millions of people. Like come on. What century are we in. It wasn’t funny. Judging by the reactions by others in the audience, they didn’t find it funny either. It is literally impossible to be a woman. All we can do is prove these people wrong. I will play the leading lady one day. Yes, I do play the leading lady on a regular in my own life but my god it will feel so good taking that final bow in a show as the leading lady. Commanding the stage. Showing the people who told me I couldn’t do it that I can.

Ps. Cellulite and rolls are a completely normal human feature. It is does not depict you worth in the slightest. Please remember that.

I am sending you all so much love.

Big love always,

Lucy Xxx
