HEY SUMMER...PLEASE HURRY.

Hey team! Happy Sunday. Omg. Wait. HAPPY SAINT PADDY’S DAY. Grab yourself a pint of Guinness and have a merry old time. Is it just me but like where the fuck has March gone? How are we already on the 17th? MAD. Yesterday the sun was shining on my way to work and it just made me so happy. Every day, I always look for a little patch of blue sky, as I just feel instantly so much BETTER when I see it. I don’t know about you, but I am so excited for summer…

The later evenings, drinking in beer gardens, eating breakfast outside, sunbathing, tan lines, freckles, lighter hair, hot girl walks, reading in the park, the sun on your face, WEARING SUNGLASSES, bright colours, bikinis, swimming, sunset drives, spontaneous picnic dates, dog walks, I COULD BE HERE ALL DAY. Speaking of dog walks, one of my colleagues today told me I give off major golden retriever energy as I was stroking said golden retriever who had come into the store. I LOVE IT. I have been told this quite a bit but it just makes me laugh every time.

This winter has been particularly hard for me. The heavy rain, dark skies, gloomy nights, everything just felt so miserable. Seasonal depression hits SO HARD with me and I really want to work on getting better at managing my emotions during the colder months. It can be so hard waking up to darkness and leaving work in darkness to repeat and repeat and repeat. Over these past few months, I made such an effort to get outside during the day as much as possible. Whether that be a hot girl walk listening to some BADASS tunes or just sitting on a bench outside eating my lunch on my break. Even on the days it was raining I found it SO THERAPUTIC to just stand in the doorway and watch the rain lash down on the patio. It’s the little things that can really put things into perspective. For me, reminding myself that the rain won’t last forever (even if we are in the UK lol) and brighter days will come. Journaling to practise gratitude. When I think about my surroundings, my job, my family, my friends, myself as a person I am really grateful for who I am and who I am becoming. Especially when summer hits, I THRIVE. There is something about the sun shining that instantly makes me feel like I can do anything I set my mind too. I AM SUCH A SLUT FOR THE SUN. UGH.

Let’s chat about things I have been LOVING RECENTLY.

I finished The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. WOW. I loved it. I had no idea what to expect in terms of the plot, time period, setting etc but I was very pleasantly surprised. I absolutely loved the twist too. It took me a while to process but once I understood my jaw was on the floor. I rated it five stars on Good Reads. Not a thing I would change.

Vinted. I’ve always loved Vinted but recently I have been finding some really cute pieces at such amazing prices. One of my resolutions for this year was to shop more sustainably and I’m really happy I’ve put it into practise. I got the CUTEST strawberry tote bag from Daisy Street and I can already see the sunset picnics with that making an appearance. ADORABLE.

New Balance Trainers. I have just purchased some lime green detailed New Balance trainers and I have had SO MANY compliments about them. One of my managers told me she had the same pair in her online basket and was so close to purchasing them. We literally have the same fashion sense so it doesn’t surprise me lol. ADORE THEM.

On that note: I hope you have a wonderful Sunday and have a great reset for the week ahead. You’ll find me working today and I’m sure it will be busyyyy. Let’s go team. Sending you all so many positive vibes.

Big love, ALWAYS,

Lucy Xxx
