Hey team. How are we doing? I have a busyyyy week coming up and atm I am just filled with so much gratitude and excitement for the week ahead. If fourteen-year-old me could see what she’s up to now, she would FREAK OUT. Whatever happens, I am so proud of that. I’ve had a week off this week and it’s allowed me to catch up with friends who I haven’t seen for sooo long (which as been a dream) but it’s also allowed me to reflect on just how far I’ve come, even from just a year ago.
I remember the day before I graduated drama school, I made a video on my phone (which I still have btw) basically in floods of tears lol, feeling absolutely TERRIFIED about what was to come, feeling like there was no place for me in the industry as my confidence had been knocked MASSIVELY. I said to my future self “future me, if you’re watching this, please tell me that you didn’t give up, that you kept going, even when it’s SO HARD.” I knew if I made that video, it would look back at it and see VIDEO PROOF of just how far I’ve come. Here I am, next week I’m going to one of the biggest auditions of my career so far, and that is SO FUCKING COOL. Whatever happens beyond that, I am just so grateful to be in the room. I also cannot wait for my post audition treat lol. That’s without a doubt my favourite part about auditioning phaha.
For any of my actor babies, let me just tell you that auditions are SLOWWW atm. If you feel like you are the only one who hasn’t had many auditions so far this year, please know that you are not alone. Getting in the room can sometimes feel impossible but just know that what is meant for you will not pass you by and the most exciting opportunities take a little time to surface. HANG IN THERE HUNNIES.
Okay, let me tell you what I’ve been loving lately:
- I have just started A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas which I have heard rave reviews about on TikTok, so I am very intrigued to see what happens. So far so good, I just know it’s going to become a new fave. I will keep you updated on my progress.
- Podcasts. Atm I am loving: Working Title by Margot Lee, Life’s Your Bitch by Megan Short and Working Hard, Hardly Working by Grace Beverely. Especially when I’m walking, I will always put a podcast on, it feels like you’re just on facetime to a friend and shit can get deep which I LOVE.
- Six The Musical. Yes, this is not a new obsession but recently I have been blasting the soundtrack on my runs and I just love it. I got to see it live back in August and it was one of the most incredible shows I have ever seen. The soundtrack, the costumes, the vocals. ABSOLUTELY. Obsessed. One day baby. One day.
- Following on: RUNNING. I have been LOVING IT. Especially when it’s sunny and I have the best music blasting in my ears it feels sooo euphoric. It’s such a fun way to build stamina and stay fit. I’ve been making sure I don’t compare my running journey to other people’s because I am still a beginner. I’ve learnt that cardio workouts and running are two completely different things so it’s been nice to delve into the running side more lately. LOVING IT.
Okay. Let’s do this. A new week. My god I am excited. I’m doing this for younger me. She would be so proud. Sending love.
Big hugs ALWAYS,
Lucy Xxx
