LIVING YOUR BREAST LIFE.

Hey hey all it’s Wednesday and we are halfway through another week! This October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month which is something I am extremely passionate about so let’s talk!!!

💕💞💕💞

It is so important for us to feel our chests. Whether it’s in the shower, infront of the mirror, laying in bed, it’s always a good time to feel. I remember when I moved out for the first time and my mum gave me a leaflet which gave me information on how to check my chest. I remember feeling so overwhelmed and scared when I first started reading it. All these emotions bubbling of what if it happens to me? Even at 18? It was only because it had been such a taboo subject for so long that I was never really exposed to the art of checking my chest so it felt like the unknown. Now at 23 years old I understand that it doesn’t need to be scary and it’s an extremely productive use of my time which could quite literally save my life.

CoppaFeel! have some incredible resources on their website and socials on how to check your chest. It can be in the simplest of ways and can take a matter of seconds. They’ve launched their ‘Feelings’ campaign this October which highlights the importance of being in touch with your emotions and allowing yourself to feel all feelings, even the ones that might not feel quite right. But feeling the most important one of all: feeling your chest. Breast Cancer can affect anyone at any age and feeling your chest is not something to be scared of. The taboo is slowly being broken but let’s encourage this further. More for information head to www.coppafeel.org.uk or head to their Instagram @coppafeel 💓💞💕💗

My favourite way to check my chest is in the shower, as I use it as a form of self care. Add one more step to your everything shower and check your boobs whilst your at it. Yes I am obviously not a GP so if you have any questions please do contact them as I am not a professional!!! BUT feel around any lumps and bumps. Under, over and all in between. Speak to your friends or loved ones about it, start the conversation and ease the nerves. It’s so normal to feel anxious about it but I promise you there’s nothing to be nervous about 🫶🏻

Prioritise yourself and making feeling your chest your BEST form of self-care. I love you all and I hope you have the best rest of your week. I’ll be sharing further resources regarding Breast Cancer Awareness Month with you all across October so keep an eye out but if you want to message me personally my DMs are of course always open!! 🫶🏻✨💗🍈
