MY WEEKEND WAS "CRAZIER" THAN YOURS.

Hi. I don’t even know where to begin to be honest. I’m still getting over the fact that this weekend happened because it still feels like such a fever dream. We went to the Eras Tour in Edinburgh. We saw Taylor Swift LIVE. Not only that. We got the one surprise song that we thought wouldn’t even be a possibility and it made our childhood dreams come true.

Let me explain. As part of the show, Taylor will do an acoustic section which consists of a song on the piano and one on the guitar. The fun part is, is that at every show the songs will change so you never know what songs she will play during the set for that particular show. Now, if you know me, you know how much the Hannah Montana Movie was such a huge part of my childhood. I made my friend’s dad download the entire movie soundtrack onto my tiny iPod so I could listen to it whenever I wanted. I would record the film whenever it was on so I could watch it whenever I wanted. (Throwback to the days before Disney+) I made my mum buy me the Hannah Montana wig from the Disney Store just so I could feel like a pop star, singing the soundtrack in my room. I was and still am really, a Disney Channel girl through and through. Taylor Swift made a feature in the movie, singing an original song entitled “Crazier” and I was OBSESSED. It’s how I first discovered her. My girls and I have always joked about her playing that song at the Eras Tour as a surprise song but we knew that it would never be a possibility because it was a single that was released for a movie, it wasn’t part of on “era” as such. We had seen that the night before our show, she had done two mashups. Essentially the crowd got four songs instead of two. Now.

We were on such a high that we honestly thought the night couldn’t get any better. Her first surprise mashup was “The Bolter” and to our absolute surprise “Getaway Car” which was INSANE. Her second mashup on the piano began with “All of The Girls You’ve Loved Before” from the Lover era which was so special for me. She then went on to say “extra points if you know this next song because it’s really REALLY old.” You cannot even make it up. What song does she begin to play? Yeah. CRAZIER from the Hannah Montana Movie. When I tell you, we were in complete and utter disbelief. She has never played the song live before ANYWHERE since it was released for the film. The one night we happen to be at the Eras Tour, she plays the one song that we could’ve only DREAMED of hearing live. To share that moment with the three girls that I have grown up with and shared so many special moments with already, that moment is one that I know we will never forget. If you haven’t seen the video of us realising, omg it is the funniest thing. The look on our faces when we realise is priceless. Also, mixed with the fact that Isobel screams “ARE YOU TAKING THE ACTUAL PISS?!” that moment will go down in history in our friendship group. I will make my kids watch the Hannah Montana Movie RELIGIOUSLY and make sure they appreciate just how MONUMENTAL that film is.

The whole weekend was just incredible. I got to go to Edinburgh for the first time which was so much fun and create so many new memories with my favourite people. Summer has officially begun and you best believe it will be a Miley Stewart summer. Let’s go find a cowboy, shall we? Yeehaw.
