HAPPY BONFIRE NIGHT! Do you ever feel like a plastic bag? Stop. I’m not about to resight the lyrics to Firework. I mean what a tune though. Love you KP. Anyway, happy Sunday! I’m ending my week at my gorgeous muggle job that I love so much. I’m gonna have the most gorgeous self-care night tonight and just take some time for myself to reflect on what has been a CRAZY but very exciting week. I hope you all take some time for yourselves today to just BREATHE. Look after yourselves today and let’s SMASH next week. YOU GOT THIS BOO.
Rejection is just a part of life. No matter your career or lifestyle, we all have to deal with it. Especially as an actor, MY GOODNESS, we get our fair share. Since being in the industry I cannot count the number of roles and jobs I didn’t get as an actor. Especially with social media being a highlight reel, you don’t always see the amount of rejection even the most famous actors have to go through. Trust me, IT HAPPENS TO EVERYONE and will always be part of the process.
Sometimes I do have a habit of falling in love a little too much with a role that I’ve auditioned for. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world when I get an audition through for a project that makes me SO EXCITED but, on the flip, either never hearing back from the casting team or hearing that I didn’t get the role can then really sting. I’m working on keeping the roles I audition for separate from my everyday life once I hit submit on the self-tape. Not constantly thinking about the outcome. At the end of the day, it’s in the hands of the universe and all I can do is manifest the SHIT out of it. Another habit I do have is planning my entire life around a role that I haven’t even got yet. Now listen, I know I am not the only one but MY GOD I love to do it. Then when I don’t get the role, my brain is like so, babes are we not loving to LA in the summer anymore now? Okay, right, great.

I am a very firm believer that rejection is re-direction. If I don’t get a role, it’s because there is something better waiting for me. Something that will align perfectly with my own personal goals and what is right for me at this moment in time. TRUST THE PROCESS TEAM. It’s just the universe doing its thing. My goodness rejection is so hard sometimes though don’t get me wrong. It can be so crushing not getting a job you would give anything to have. Please remember, what is meant for you will not pass you by. Embrace the heartbreak and then move forward, ready for the next audition. Everything will fall into place one day. Please keep the faith.
I am sending you all the positive vibes as always. My DM’s are always open if you want to chat. This industry can be incredibly overwhelming, now more than ever. Don’t ever compare yourself to others, you’re doing so great, I promise.
Big love, ALWAYS,
Lucy Xxx
